A Bit About Me

I’m a 30 year young, ENFP, located in NC with my sweet husband and our boy cat. Although my heart is happiest by the ocean, I’m currently a city gal taking every opportunity to hop on a plane and explore somewhere new. At the core of my business and who I am, I owe it all to Jesus. My inspiration behind my art is driven by my fascination with humans and connection. Twelve years in and over 300 weddings later, and I’m still so honored and grateful to continue to serve my clients and document their stories in an artful and authentic way.

Kind Words

Hailey + Dalton

“I have dreamed of the day that Erica would photograph my wedding. Our friendship roots run deep, and I couldn’t imagine anyone else being there with us. We got married in Arches National Park and Erica was my hype girl from the moment we started planning— she has such a calm, giving spirit that is a breath of fresh air. I can’t recommend her enough, she truly is the best in the game and is so much more than her talent- if that’s possible!”

Amy + Ryan

“We truly couldn’t have been happier with Erica as our photographer! She made us feel comfortable from day one and really took the time to get to know us and our story. Her care and attention to detail took so much pressure off of us and that went such a long way during those busy times. We recommend her time and time again. Thank you for beautifully capturing our special day Erica!”

Ali + Adam

“While Erica’s work entirely speaks for itself; her unbelievably stunning photography doesn’t do even an ounce of justice to the authenticity and passion she exudes from behind the lens. We had an extremely intimate wedding and Erica’s presence and contribution to our day was not only seamless but integral in making our day pure magic.”

“We embrace that we are imperfect people trying to love perfectly, and though we will fail, we continue to try because that’s what love is about — not perfection — but resilience, continuance.”

FAQ

How many hours do you suggest we book on our wedding day?

My collections range from 6 – 8 hours, but my recommendation on how many hours you book depends on how large of a wedding you have and how many elements of the day you want photographed! 8 hours tends to be the sweet spot for me because it allows for a smooth timeline that captures you getting ready all the way through an exit comfortably. However, 6 and 7 hours is still very doable! It just means we’ll have a tighter timeline or need to prioritize some elements of the day! That being said, if 8 isn’t *quite* enough time for you, you always have the option of adding on extra hours, a la carte (: The world is your oyster!

How important is a second shooter?

Personally, I’m a big fan of second shooters! Which is why I include them on all of my collections as a default! Having a sidekick on your wedding day to act as an additional shooter and assistant makes our experience as a team even better for many reasons. For one, it allows me to work more efficiently and have an extra set of hands to help me grab details, move furniture around, quickly grab a battery or memory card, and help with direction. And for two, the extra set of eyes allows me to see things from a different perspective and capture lighting, your expressions, and other memories happening that I may not be capturing. I also have the best team of seconds to choose from, so i’m a little biased!

How many images do you deliver on average?

No wedding is the same, therefore it’s hard to say an *exact* number of images you will receive! It’s safe to say that you’ll receive around 100 images per hour of coverage though! I always tell my couples if you have more going on in the day, you can expect more images. That’s usually dependent on whether you have a first look, size of your wedding party + family, ceremony and reception time, or lots of dancing in your reception! Let me emphasize though – That doesn’t mean with less images, your quality changes so don’t feel pressure to over complicate your day just so you have more images! Keep it true to you, and you’ll fall in love with your memories regardless!

Do you travel?

That’s a big absolutely yes. If I could live in a different state/country every weekend, i’d be such a happy bird. I love traveling so much, and I love shooting weddings in new places even more regardless if that’s in the U.S. or out of the country! That being said, I’m currently offering a special on any weddings, elopements, or sessions booked in any of my bucket list places. (those are stated in my price guide). Let’s travel the world together!

How long have you been shooting weddings?

I’m walking into my 7th year of business, with 4 of those years being full time! I studied technical photography in college, and then left to pursue weddings full time when I felt it was finally time to take the plunge! Best decision i’ve ever made, hands down. I’ve lost count at this point of how many weddings i’ve photographed, but i’m somewhere around 260 weddings! And if you’re wondering if i’m burnt out, I genuinely feel like I was made to do this, so I love them just as much as I did when I started!

What is your turnaround time?

Turn around time is dependent on how busy my season is, but likely you can expect your wedding images back in 8-12 weeks, and sessions in 3 weeks!

What happens if you’re unable to shoot our wedding?

I get this question quite a bit actually! Knock on wood, i’ve never been sick at any wedding i’ve photographed, so I like to think my immune system is pretty solid. In the case something terrible happened and I was physically unable to come due to being deathly ill, an act of God, death in family, etc, I would find a replacement photographer of equal value and make sure you approved and were comfortable.

We’re super awkward in front of the camera and have never done this before. How will you make us comfortable?

I also get this question a lot, and i love it because those are the ones that usually end up being the most fun to photograph! If anyone can relate to feeling uncomfortable when a camera is pointed at you, hello it’s me! That’s why I do my *very* best to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible. I will always have music playing, so send me your fav songs. I also think it’s super important to make your session feel like more of a date and less of a session. I create moments with you, that way it feels like something you’d do in every day life. While i’ll throw in a few poses, i’ll mostly be giving you prompts to follow that way your expressions are as genuine as possible! Engagement sessions are the best way to get you comfortable with me and my camera, and they’re SO much fun.
